Grzegorz Szostak graduated at the Frederic Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw under Aleksander Teliga and was a semi-finalist at the “Belvedere Singing Competition” in Vienna.
He made his national debut in 1991 at Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw in a student production “Flis” by S. Moniuszko, where he performed the part of Szóstak.
From 1993 to 2004 he was soloist of the representative art ensemble of the Polish army and from 2003 to 2012 he was soloist of the Music Theater in Lublin.
In 2006 Grzegorz made his international debut at the Rotterdam Theater, where he performed Don Basilio in “The Barber of Seville”
Since 2008 he has been a soloist of the Grand Theatre Łódź and cooperates with the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, the Podlasie Opera and the Philharmonic in Białystok, the Silesian Opera in Bytom, the Cracow Opera in Kraków, the Wrocław Opera, the Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, the Warsaw Chamber Opera, Warsaw Philharmonic, Silesian Philharmonic as well as with Cracow Philharmonic.
Grzegorz Szostak performed operas and concerts in Europe (Gruber Ballett – Opera Paris, ArtMedia – Passau, Show Attack – Cologne, Cicada.Con – Berlin, Supierz Artist Management – Amersfoort, Netherlands).
He gave concerts for the Belgian royal family and the Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg, as well as New Year’s concerts in the Palaise des Festivals in Cannes and Montreux and also in the Dubai Opera.
His repertoire includes more than 60 roles, including Skołuba and Zbigniew (The Haunted Manor, St. Moniuszko), Don Basilio and Don Bartolo (The Barber of Seville, G. Rossini), Sarastro (The Magic Flute, W. A. Mozart), Caspar (Der Freischütz, C. M von Weber), Dr. Miracle (Hoffmann’s Tales, J. Offenbach), Vodnik (Rusalka, A. Dvořak), Zaccaria (Nabucco, G. Verdi), Philippe II and the Grand Inquisitor (Don Carlos, G. Verdi), Ramfis (Aida, G. Verdi), Prince Gremin (Eugene Onegin, P. I. Tchaikovsky), Raymond (Lucia di Lammermoor, G. Donizetti) and Daland (The Flying Dutchman, R. Wagner).
