Michael Daub was born in Saarlouis (Germany). He graduated his Master program with distinction as a student of Rudolf Piernay and Konrad Jarnot at the renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
During his studies he was a scholar of the Deutschlandstipendum multiple times, the DAAD as well as the Horst und Gretl Will Stiftung Cologne.
After finishing his studies he was a member of the Opera Studio at Landestheater Linz (Austria). Since 2022 he works as a soloist with fest contract at Theater Regensburg (Germany).
His repertoire contains roles from standard repertoire as well as new repertoire. He performed in roles such as Harlekin (Ariadne auf Naxos), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), Dandini (La Cenerentola), Don Ferrando (Fidelio), Cascada (Die lustige Witwe), Escamillo (Carmen), Heger/Jäger (Rusalka), Conte Robinsone (Il matrimonio segreto), Maximilian (Candide), Nadaban (worldpremiere of Valuschka by Peter Eötvös), Hannah (As One) or Tom Watson (Parade, Musical).
Besides opera Michael has a passion for the genre Lied. He works with famous song accompanists like Eric Schneider, Hans Eijsackers or Eugene Asti for many years. He gave various song recitals within Germany as well as abroad. Some of his recitals were recorded and broadcast from the BBC, the Bavarian Broadcasting and the West German Broadcasting. He formed part as a soloist at renowned festivals and venues such as Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Kissinger Sommer or Klavierfestival Ruhr.
Michael worked with famous singers and conductors like KS Brigitte Fassbaender, KS Michael Schade, KS Adrian Eröd, Edith Wiens, John Fiore und Markus Poschner.
He speaks German, English and Spanish.
